Recent reports show that within the next five years, freelancers will make up the majority of workers in the U.S. This is both good news and bad news for those of us who already are (or who want to soon become) contract workers.
It’s good news because a bigger freelance economy means more businesses will hire freelancers — rather than full-time employees — to get things done. But it’s bad news because more freelancers in the economy also means more competition.
With stats like these coming out, now is an excellent time to start freelancing. The sooner you get started, the sooner you can have a leg up on all that up-and-coming competition!
